Sarah Anrijs obtained a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education: Dutch – mathematics (Artevelde University College, 2014) and a master’s degree in New Media and Society (Communication Sciences, Ghent University, 2016). In 2016, she joined mict as a researcher. She was involved in the ARIA-project that addressed the use of Augmented Reality for digital instructions and support in complex manual tasks, and the Kop Op project that aimed to raise awareness for balanced smartphone and screen use.

In January 2019, Sarah was granted a BOF-mandate from Ghent University in which she is pursuing a PhD on the determinants of digital exclusion among different groups, e.g., people with cognitive disability, youngsters, self-employed professionals, and disadvantaged people. Her supervisors are Prof. dr. Koen Ponnet en Prof. dr. Lieven De Marez.
