B. Practical aspects: in the laboratory, explanation by the person responsible for the flow cytometer (afternoon).

  • Location: VUB: Laboratorium Hematologie, UZ Brussel, Paviljoen Louis Tielemans, niveau 0, Laarbeeklaan 101, 1090 Brussel (Entrance via the main entrance of UZ Brussel. In the hall, take the corridor at the left (direction cardiovascular diseases). Laboratory for Clinical Biology is seen in front of you.

Tuesday 27 September 2022 - 9:30-12:00 / 13:00- 16:00

A. Detection of selected cytokines in a murine tumor lysate using luminex kit for cytometer bead array analysis.  Practical aspects in the Biochemistry laboratory and explanation of the measurements by the person in charge at the 3-laser flow cytometer with attention to the pitfalls in multiplex bead analysis (morning).

B. Purification of 4 different immune cells (cytotoxic T cells, NK cells, monocytes and pDCs) from the PBMC fraction in the pig. Practical aspects at the Laboratory of Veterinary Immunology, explanation of sorting process by the person responsible for the cell sorter and ‘tip and tricks’ to prepare an efficient sort (afternoon).
