Baoying Shan
Baoying specializes in compound events, drought, heatwave, copula and statistical hydrology.
Bio
After a master's research in agricultural water management under uncertainty, I started a Ph.D. at the Laboratory of Hydrology and Water Management and KERMIT focusing on the compound climate extremes. With a passion for applying mathematical modeling to discover and solve hydrology-related problems, we built an improved method to identify compound drought and heatwave events on a daily scale and across four seasons. An exciting topic about exploring the ecological influence of compound events on UK butterflies is in progress.
